E is for Experiences:
During the school year, there has been a lot of challenging things that have been holding everyone back at a point. I want to take the time to reflect on the good things and bad things I did this year academics wise. In the ESPI worksheet, I am going to share my experiences, struggles, puzzles, and insights. Since the letter E is experiences and since it is the first section, we are going to get right into it. For experiences, we have have to think about activities or writings that expanded our knowledge in this 8th grade year. One assignment in specific that expanded my thinking was the Yo soy azteca poem for history class. This expanded my thinking because it was a mix of a poem but we were also telling the story of how the Aztecs lived and struggled when they were all killed. According to me “Éramos inocentes y no hicimos nada para merecer este tratamiento”. Basically, what I am trying to say is that they didn’t deserve the brutal treatment from Spanish people. This helped me grow as a person because I can write a meaningful poem that everyone can enjoy and can be part of it.
S is for Struggles:
The next section is struggles. Even if you don’t admit it, you have struggled in school because you have a bad habit or something has not gone your way. Some thing I struggled with this year is managing my efficiently as possible. I overcame this challenge by just trying to keep focus and put my work as my number one priority. For example, during this distance learning, I waited to the end of the week to do my work and that resulted in me asking for more time even when I was behind on all of it.
P is for Puzzles:
The third section in the ESPI is puzzles. There were a lot of questions I had throughout this year, but one that I was still not sure of was how is high school going to be. I asked this question because I’ve heard people say that it is going to take some time to get used to it so I just wan’t to get and idea of how it is so when I go, I know what to expect. Some things that I have also struggled on and have not overcome them yet are being organized and staying positive. I struggled at times to stay organized with all the work that was given but quite a few times I did not turn in assignments because I wasn’t responsible enough to write them down in my agenda or they got mixed with loads of other papers. I also struggled to stay positive because when a work did not go as planned, I tend to not care anymore and at the end of the day I would do it bu rush through it.
I is for Insights:
The fourth and final section of this ESPI reflection is Insights. One new insight that I have about reading and writing is that although it is challenging, I get to express my thoughts on paper so that other people can hear my perspective about a certain topic. I am very passionate when it comes to writing and try to make it as interesting as possible so that both the audience and myself do not get bored of reading. Now, we must move on to the new insights that I have about public speaking. Public speaking can be boring at times, but it just depends on the speaker. The new insight that I had about public speaking is what I said in the past sentence. I noticed in all the speech contest or presentations during class, the people that were more passionate and enthusiastic caught the attention of everyone in the room. The last new insight that I had was about life in general. The insight that I had was that school determines your future. I was talking about college and my future in the last 2 blogs but this is something that I am really intrigued in. If you have a bad reputation in school, no job is going to wan’t you because when they look at your resume/ summary, they are going to be shocked on why you tried to apply. School is very important and something to be aware of because of your not, your dreams of being successful will go down the drain in less than a second. As I finish this post, I just wan’t to take the time and thank my audience for reading my blogs everyday and staying with me throughout these past 7 weeks. I am very grateful for you guys and wish you the best of luck in future. It is not my duty, but it is my honor to say farewell.
